Spartan Officer's Sword (Spatha) of King Leonidas
The sword believed to have been carried by King Leonidas, leader of the 300 at the battle of Thermopylae in 480 BC.
This sword was used by the officers (lochagoi) and leaders of the famous Spartan infantry for close combat at battles like Thermopylae and Plataies. Its sharp blade is made of high carbon steel.
